The role of Sous Chef at Flik Hospitality Group is a vital position within the Culinary Department, responsible for supporting the Executive Chef and contributing to the seamless operation of the kitchen and food preparation services. This role involves supervising kitchen staff, assisting with menu development, preparing and cooking various food items, and ensuring quality control in every dish served. The Sous Chef works closely with the Executive Chef to manage food costs, order inventory, execute catering events, and introduce new culinary programs in collaboration with the company’s marketing and culinary teams. Job Requirements

  • Education at the A.S. degree level or equivalent experience
  • Progressive culinary or kitchen management experience
  • Computer proficiency including Microsoft Office and related tools
  • ServSafe certification preferred
  • Ability to work in a high volume kitchen environment
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Willingness to engage in ongoing training and client satisfaction activities

Job Qualifications

  • A.S. degree or equivalent experience
  • Some progressive culinary or kitchen management experience
  • Catering experience is a plus
  • Experience with high volume, complex foodservice operations is highly desirable
  • Knowledge of food and catering trends focusing on quality, production, sanitation, and food cost controls
  • Experienced with computers including Microsoft Office, Outlook, E-mail, and Internet
  • ServSafe certification is highly desirable
  • Willingness to participate in client satisfaction programs

Job Duties

  • Assist the Executive Chef with managing cost controls and expenditures
  • Assist the Executive Chef with planning and creating menus
  • Produce and execute catering events
  • Roll out new culinary programs in conjunction with company marketing and culinary team
  • Supervise hourly culinary associates
  • Ensure food quality, sanitation, and presentation standards
  • Support ordering and inventory management
