The current opportunity is for a Sous Chef position at Boise State University under the Chartwells Higher Education banner. This role is pivotal in supporting the campus dining food service team by collaborating closely with the Executive Chef to ensure smooth kitchen operations. The Sous Chef will be hands-on in all aspects of culinary preparation, including menu development where creativity and precision are key. Responsibilities also extend to managing budgeting and food costing practices, ensuring top-tier client and customer satisfaction, and playing a leadership role in training and mentoring hourly associates. This team-oriented role requires someone energetic and growth-minded, eager to contribute to the dynamic culinary landscape while advancing their own professional skills within a rapidly growing company. The Sous Chef will also be involved in executing catering events and launching new culinary programs in alignment with company marketing and culinary strategies. Job Requirements
- associate degree or equivalent experience
- prior culinary or kitchen management experience
- ability to work in high volume foodservice environments
- strong knowledge of food preparation and safety standards
- proficient in computer skills including microsoft office and internet use
- willing to participate in client satisfaction activities
- servsafe certification preferred
Job Qualifications

- experience in high volume and complex foodservice operations
- knowledge of food and catering trends

Job Duties
- assist the Executive Chef with managing cost controls and account expenditures

- produce and execute catering events
