The Chef role at Paradigm Treatment Centers and Ridge RTC holds a vital position within the residential treatment programs. This role encompasses the planning, preparation, and serving of nutritious and high-quality meals that contribute significantly to clients' physical health and emotional recovery. Understanding the integral role nutrition plays in overall wellness, especially in the context of behavioral health, the Chef ensures dietary needs, allergies, cultural considerations, and medical restrictions are all meticulously addressed. Furthermore, this position requires maintaining a sanitary and organized kitchen environment that complies with all health and safety regulations.

Beyond meal preparation, the Chef collaborates closely with clinical and operations teams to support the treatment plans and schedules, ensuring meal services complement therapeutic activities. The role demands a calm, professional demeanor capable of fostering positive interactions within a structured residential healthcare setting. This position offers a work schedule from Thursday to Monday, 10 AM to 6 PM, and a competitive salary range of $28 per hour. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • prior cooking experience preferred
  • food handler certification required or willingness to obtain
  • ability to work Thursday through Monday from 10 AM to 6 PM
  • ability to work in a structured healthcare environment
  • must maintain professionalism and appropriate client boundaries
  • ability to follow health and safety regulations
  • effective communication and teamwork skills

Job Qualifications

  • Prior experience as a chef or cook in a residential, healthcare, hospitality, or institutional setting preferred
  • knowledge of food safety standards and proper kitchen sanitation practices
  • ability to prepare meals for larger groups while maintaining quality and consistency
  • experience accommodating dietary restrictions such as allergies, vegetarian/vegan, medical diets
  • strong organizational and time-management skills
  • reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
  • comfortable working in a behavioral health or residential treatment environment
  • food handler certification required or willingness to obtain

Job Duties

  • Plan and prepare daily meals for residential clients and staff, ensuring consistency, quality, and nutritional balance
  • develop menus that accommodate dietary needs, allergies, and medical or cultural restrictions
  • maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen in compliance with health and safety regulations
  • order, receive, and properly store food and kitchen supplies
  • monitor food inventory and manage costs to stay within budget guidelines
  • collaborate with clinical and operations teams to support client needs and program schedules
  • follow all food safety, sanitation, and infection control protocols
  • maintain professionalism and appropriate boundaries while interacting with clients
  • assist with special events, holidays, or therapeutic programming as needed
