This opportunity is for the Chef position within Compass Group, offering a salary range between $58,000 and $65,000. The Chef plays a crucial role in ensuring client and customer satisfaction by providing frontline culinary resources and support. This role involves managing aspects of the culinary operation, which may include scheduling, discipline, and hiring within the department. The Chef will assist the Executive Chef or Sous Chef with developing new menus, recipes, and ordering, contributing to innovative culinary program rollouts alongside marketing and culinary teams. Responsibilities also encompass food cost control, menu planning, purchasing, and maintaining food quality standards, as well as producing and executing catering events. This position is well-suited for an energetic, entrepreneurial culinary professional passionate about high-volume batch cooking, complex food service operations, and comprehensive food and catering trends. The role requires hands-on chef experience, with a preference for candidates having extensive catering experience and knowledge in areas like sanitation, food cost controls, production, quality, and presentation. ServSafe certification is preferred, as is an Associate's degree in Culinary Arts, along with proficiency in computer skills, especially Microsoft Office including Excel. - Relevant culinary management experience
- Hands-on chef experience
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices

Job Qualifications
- 1 to 3 years of culinary management experience
- Experience in restaurants, hotels, corporate dining, education, military, health care, and/or related food service operations
- Hands-on chef experience is required
- Extensive catering experience is preferred
- High volume batch cooking and complex food service operations experience is preferred
- Comprehensive knowledge of food and catering trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation
- ServSafe certification is preferred
- Computer skills and knowledge of MS Office products including Excel
- Associate's degree in Culinary Arts is preferred
Job Duties
- Provides frontline culinary resources and support
- Assists with food cost control, menu planning, purchasing, and ensures food quality guidelines are followed
- Assists with planning and creating menus
- Produces and executes catering events
- Rolls out new culinary programs in conjunction with marketing and culinary team
- Assists with managing cost controls and control expenditures for the account
- Performs other duties as assigned
