Job Description

Carne is an innovative food company based in the San Francisco Bay Area that celebrates the artistry of crafting exceptional food products by blending meat and plant-forward ingredients. Our unique offerings include distinctive items such as Truffle Mushroom Meatballs, Black Garlic Roasted Red Pepper Sausages, and Lemon Chicken Cauliflower Cutlets. These high-quality products not only tantalize the palate but also emphasize nutrition and sustainability. We take pride in pioneering these culinary creations that are making significant inroads in local institutions, such as UC Berkeley, where our pork sausages are becoming the preferred choice because students appreciate their flavor, health benefits, and environmental advantages. As our footprint rapidly expands throughout the Bay Area, we are committed to making a positive impact both on taste and sustainability fronts.

We are currently seeking a part-time chef to join our dynamic team and work closely with the Founder & CEO during critical sales meetings. This role involves a blend of cooking craft and customer engagement, requiring the preparation of product samples that best represent our unique culinary innovations. The chef will play an essential role by creating an excellent sensory experience for prospective customers, thereby aiding in demonstrating the value and quality of our products. The position requires flexibility, as it is scheduled around the Founder & CEO's trips to various locations within the Bay Area. The commitment is typically 10-15 hours per month, compensated at $75 per hour, with equity opportunities for exceptional candidates. This role offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a forward-thinking company where passion for food artistry and sustainability intersects with entrepreneurial growth and innovation. If you have a background in culinary arts and a keen interest in innovative and sustainable food products, this role offers a rewarding platform to grow your career within a thriving food tech startup environment.
