We are currently looking to hire a full-time Chef to join our dietary team on a 4/3 day rotation schedule. This vital role is designed for an experienced culinary professional passionate about preparing delicious, nutritious, and well-balanced meals tailored to the specific dietary needs of our residents. The Chef will be responsible for preparing and cooking meals in accordance with facility menus while ensuring all dietary restrictions, therapeutic diets, and texture modifications are correctly followed. The role demands strong culinary skills blended with creativity to contribute to menu planning and special events that enhance the dining experience for our residents. In addition to adhering to all food safety, sanitation, and infection control standards, the Chef will play an essential part in maintaining kitchen organization, efficiency, and cleanliness. Collaboration is key in this position, as the Chef will work closely with the Dietary Manager, Dietitian, and other dietary team members to promote a cohesive, team-oriented environment focused on resident satisfaction and health. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • minimum 5 years of professional cooking experience
  • knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • ability to work a full-time 4/3 day rotation schedule
  • strong communication and leadership skills
  • ability to follow dietitian and dietary manager instructions
  • physical ability to stand for extended periods and perform kitchen duties

Job Qualifications

  • Culinary school education preferred
  • minimum 5 years of professional cooking experience, preferably in healthcare, hospitality, or a high-volume kitchen
  • strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices (ServSafe certification a plus)
  • ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • team player with strong communication and leadership skills
  • knowledge of therapeutic diets and dietary restrictions preferred

Job Duties

  • Prepare and cook high-quality meals in accordance with facility menus and resident dietary needs
  • ensure compliance with all food safety, sanitation, and infection control standards
  • coordinate with the Dietary Manager and Dietitian to accommodate therapeutic and texture-modified diets
  • maintain organization, cleanliness, and efficiency in the kitchen
  • demonstrate excellent time management and attention to detail during meal prep and service
  • lead and collaborate with dietary team members to promote a positive, team-oriented work environment
