The company is currently seeking a Chef Manager to join their team at Indiana University in Indianapolis. This role offers an exciting opportunity to apply culinary skills in a dynamic, fast-paced environment while supporting the daily operations of a student dining location. The Chef Manager will be responsible for supervising culinary activities, managing a sizable team, and contributing to menu development and food preparation. This position emphasizes creativity, leadership, and operational excellence, making it ideal for candidates who are passionate about food service, cost control, and client satisfaction.

In this role, the Chef Manager will support and collaborate closely with the Executive Chef and culinary team to plan, create, and deliver high-quality food offerings that meet the expectations of a diverse student community. Responsibilities include overseeing food preparation and garnishment, assisting with inventory management and ordering, as well as monitoring cost controls to optimize resource use. The ability to foster strong relationships with clients and team members is essential to align dining services with campus objectives and enhance overall customer satisfaction.

Job Duties

  • assist dining team with managing cost controls and control expenditures for the account
  • assist the Executive Chef and culinary team with planning and creating menus
  • foster strong client relationships to align programs with their objectives, driving satisfaction and retention
  • perform other duties as assigned to support efficient functioning of dining service operations including inventory management, ordering, and administrative functions
  • supervise hourly associates and collaborate with Executive Chef on menu development
