The Chef Manager role at Aramark SeniorLIFE+ is a vital leadership position responsible for overseeing all foodservice operations with a strong emphasis on customer service, food quality, cost control, and regulatory compliance. Reporting directly to the Culinary Services Manager, the Chef Manager takes a hands-on approach to managing daily food service activities, including menu development, food production, staffing, scheduling, and training. This role requires a deep commitment to maintaining rigorous sanitation, safety, and nutrition standards, ensuring compliance with company policies, OSHA requirements, and all relevant federal, state, and local regulations.

In addition to operational oversight, the Chef Manager plays a critical role in team development by leveraging Aramark's coaching model to engage and maximize team member performance. This includes recognizing and rewarding employee contributions, leading daily team meetings, and fostering a positive workplace culture that drives accountability and excellence. The Chef Manager also acts as a key liaison in client relationship management, building strong partnerships with clients and residents to deliver exceptional customer service aligned with Aramark's service standards.

Compensation for this position ranges from $60,000 to $65,000 annually, reflecting Aramark's commitment to fair and competitive salaries. Job Qualifications

  • Two or more years of culinary management experience in contract foodservice, fine dining setting, or full-service restaurant
  • two or more years of management experience, preferably in a union setting
  • culinary degree preferred
  • ServSafe Manager certified or willing to obtain within 30 days
  • advanced knowledge of the principles and practices within the food profession
  • experiential knowledge of management of people and/or problems
  • oral, reading and written communication skills

Job Duties

  • Manage daily patient food service operations in compliance with established standards and procedures
  • conduct regular patient and departmental rounds to assess service quality and address opportunities for improvement
  • promptly address patient and client feedback and make adjustments as necessary
  • lead and support patient service staff to ensure meals are accurately prepared, assembled, and delivered in a timely manner
  • monitor, document, and enforce safety and sanitation compliance
  • supervise tray line operations and/or room service programs to ensure quality, efficiency, and accuracy
  • leverage Aramark’s coaching model to engage, develop, and maximize team member performance
