The role of Chef Manager at Aramark is a dynamic leadership position requiring a blend of culinary expertise, team management skills, and operational acumen. Reporting to the General Manager, the Chef Manager will play a hands-on role in guiding kitchen personnel and overseeing all culinary activities to ensure exceptional food quality and customer service. This position demands dedication, patience, and a proactive approach to team development, safety protocol adherence, and client relations. The Chef Manager will be responsible for estimating food consumption, managing food requisitions and purchases, and selecting or developing recipes while standardizing production to maintain consistent quality and presentation. Additionally, the role encompasses planning and pricing menus, ensuring proper operation and maintenance of kitchen equipment, and upholding high safety and sanitation standards. The Chef Manager may also oversee special catering events and share culinary expertise by offering instruction or demonstrating techniques. A key part of this role involves helping meet budgetary requirements and successfully executing company-delivered programs, all while contributing to a positive work environment and supporting Aramark's mission to serve both clients and communities with excellence. Job Requirements

  • Requires 2-3 years of experience in a related position
  • Requires 2-3 years of post-high school education or equivalent experience
  • Culinary degree preferred
  • Requires advanced knowledge of the principles and practices within the food profession
  • Requires experiential knowledge of management of people and/or problems
  • Requires oral, reading and written communication skills

Job Duties

  • Train and manage kitchen personnel and supervise/coordinate all related culinary activities
  • Estimate food consumption and requisition or purchase food
  • Select and develop recipes as well as standardize production recipes to ensure consistent quality
  • Establish presentation technique and quality standards, and plan and price menus
  • Ensure proper equipment operation/maintenance and ensure proper safety and sanitation in kitchen
  • Oversee special catering events and may also offer culinary instruction and/or demonstrate culinary techniques
