The role of Chef Manager at Belmont Village Senior Living is a critical leadership position within the community. This role calls for a hands-on culinary professional who will both prepare meals and lead kitchen operations to ensure an exceptional hospitality-oriented dining experience. The Chef Manager will work closely with both front-of-house and back-of-house teams to maintain high standards in food quality, presentation, and service that consistently exceed expectations of residents and guests.

A key responsibility of the Chef Manager is to select, train, and develop culinary talent within a state-of-the-art kitchen setting, fostering a culture of culinary excellence and collaboration. The incumbent will also be responsible for developing meaningful relationships with residents and guests within the restaurant-style dining room, enhancing the overall dining experience.

In addition to day-to-day culinary oversight, the Chef Manager will collaborate with community leadership, regional teams, and corporate support to align the dining program with broader organizational goals. This leadership position involves managing food service compliance, scheduling and coordinating kitchen staff operations, ensuring recipe consistency, and creatively contributing to special event menu planning.

The role demands a strong focus on resident and guest satisfaction through effective communication and superior meal preparation. Managing food ordering and inventory, controlling costs, and maintaining budget compliance are also paramount duties. The Chef Manager is expected to lead staffing efforts which include interviewing, hiring, performance management, coaching, and training employees. Additionally, building a positive and safe workplace culture is essential, which involves enforcing safety protocols, food handling procedures, and kitchen cleanliness in line with company policies.

This full-time management role requires a flexible schedule to meet the demands of the dining program. Candidates should demonstrate proficiency in workplace technologies including MS Office and POS systems. The position requires at least two years of kitchen managerial experience complemented by five years of volume cooking experience.
