Sodexo is currently seeking a Chef Manager for the Cardinal Hill Rehabilitation Hospital in Lexington, KY. This position offers an exciting opportunity for culinary professionals who thrive in a fast-paced healthcare environment and who are passionate about leadership and team development. The Chef Manager will be responsible for overseeing culinary operations with a balance of 75% hands-on cooking and 25% management duties. The role demands a proactive culinary leader who can implement standardized culinary systems and procedures while overseeing food safety and physical safety training. This position requires effective management, mentoring, and direction of frontline staff, ensuring high standards of food quality and service.

The Chef Manager will also handle procurement and purchasing responsibilities and develop menus tailored to client needs, incorporating current culinary trends and patient requirements. Innovative ideas to enhance retail, catering, and patient food service offerings are highly encouraged. Building strong interpersonal relationships with clients is key to delivering a personalized dining experience that supports patient recovery and satisfaction. Healthcare foodservice experience is valued, and the candidate will work closely with operations teams to ensure compliance with regulatory standards while fostering a positive work culture.

Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or GED or equivalent
  • minimum of 1 year management experience

  • strong management skills and experience
  • menu planning experience and a strong understanding of current culinary trends

  • a proven ability to set up processes, create efficiencies, and solve problems with little to no direction

Job Duties
