The role of Chef Manager at Aramark is a vital position focused not only on delivering exceptional food but also ensuring outstanding customer service experiences. The Chef Manager will report directly to the General Manager and will take a hands-on approach in managing kitchen operations with an emphasis on team development, culinary excellence, safety protocols, and client relations. The Chef Manager will be responsible for training and managing kitchen personnel, overseeing culinary activities, estimating food consumption for procurement, and developing standardized recipes to ensure consistent product quality. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2-3 years of experience in a culinary or kitchen management role
- 2-3 years of post-secondary education or equivalent experience
- Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- Ability to manage kitchen staff and coordinate culinary operations
- Effective communication and leadership skills
- Availability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
Job Qualifications
- Requires 2-3 years of experience in a related position
- Requires 2-3 years of post-high school education or equivalent experience
- Culinary degree preferred
- Requires advanced knowledge of the principles and practices within the food profession
- Requires experiential knowledge of management of people and or problems
- Requires oral, reading and written communication skills
Job Duties
- Train and manage kitchen personnel and supervise or coordinate all related culinary activities
- Estimate food consumption and requisition or purchase food
- Select and develop recipes as well as standardize production recipes to ensure consistent quality
- Establish presentation technique and quality standards, and plan and price menus
- Ensure proper equipment operation and maintenance and ensure proper safety and sanitation in kitchen
- Oversee special catering events and may also offer culinary instruction and or demonstrates culinary techniques
- Assist in meeting budget requirements and execute company-delivered programs
