Job Description

Sodexo is a global leader in quality of life services, partnering with clients across various industries to deliver comprehensive food service, facilities management, and integrated solutions worldwide. With a mission to create a better everyday for everyone, Sodexo emphasizes improving the quality of life for those they serve while contributing to economic, social, and environmental progress within the communities they operate. Known for fostering an inclusive, respectful, and fair workplace culture, Sodexo values diversity and encourages employees to bring their authentic selves to work. Employees benefit from a supportive environment where ideas and opinions are valued, creating a strong team dynamic that promotes happiness and success at work.

Sodexo is currently seeking an experienced Chef Manager to join their team at Virginia Hospital Center (VHC Health) in Arlington, VA. Virginia Hospital Center is a 453-bed not-for-profit teaching hospital that serves as a flagship facility providing a comprehensive range of medical services in the region. The Chef Manager role is a pivotal position within the hospital’s food service operations and offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on patient, visitor, and staff dining experiences. This is a Monday-Friday AM shift position with every third weekend rotation, although the schedule may vary based on business needs.

As Chef Manager, you will take on a hands-on leadership role overseeing food production and culinary excellence while supporting patient dining and catering services. The primary responsibility is to ensure the highest quality food service is delivered consistently to meet the expectations of the hospital and Sodexo’s standards. Your role will involve leading the culinary team, managing day-to-day kitchen operations, and assuring food quality, safety, and compliance with established guidelines. You will collaborate closely with clinical and operational teams to enhance patient satisfaction through outstanding dining experiences.

In addition to operational oversight, you will assist with menu planning, inventory management, and cost controls, working diligently to achieve both company and client financial targets and goals. Building and maintaining strong customer relationships is a priority, as well as cultivating a positive work environment that supports Sodexo’s and the hospital’s high standards of service and quality. This role demands strong leadership, organizational skills, and a passion for healthcare food service.

Compensation for this position is competitive and reflects an individual’s education, experience, skills, and training. Sodexo offers an attractive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision care, wellness programs, a 401(k) plan with matching contributions, paid time off, company holidays, career growth opportunities, and tuition reimbursement. More detailed information about benefits is provided upon hire. Sodexo is committed to equal employment opportunities and supports diversity, inclusion, and equity in the workplace. They welcome applicants from all backgrounds and encourage anyone needing assistance during the application process to reach out accordingly.
