The Chef Manager role at Aramark Healthcare, specifically at Baylor Scott and White Waxahachie Hospital in Waxahachie, TX, is a pivotal leadership position within the foodservice team. This full-time role requires a hands-on manager who can blend culinary expertise with exceptional people management skills to ensure the delivery of top-quality food and outstanding customer experiences. Reporting directly to the Food Service Director, the Chef Manager is tasked with overseeing the day-to-day culinary operations, focusing on team building, safety and sanitation protocols, client relations, and financial stewardship including budget adherence and program execution.

As a Chef Manager, you will be responsible for training and leading kitchen personnel, supervising all related culinary activities, and ensuring consistent food quality through recipe standardization and menu pricing strategies. This position plays a vital role in maintaining high standards of kitchen safety and equipment maintenance, while also managing special catering events and sometimes providing culinary instruction. Job Requirements

  • Requires 2-3 years of experience in a related position
  • Requires 2-3 years of post-high school education or equivalent experience
  • Culinary degree preferred
  • Requires advanced knowledge of the principles and practices within the food profession
  • Requires experiential knowledge of management of people and or problems
  • Requires oral, reading and written communication skills

Job Duties

  • Train and manage kitchen personnel and supervise coordinate all related culinary activities
  • Estimate food consumption and requisition or purchase food
  • Select and develop recipes as well as standardize production recipes to ensure consistent quality
  • Establish presentation technique and quality standards, and plan and price menus
  • Ensure proper equipment operation maintenance and ensure proper safety and sanitation in kitchen
  • Oversee special catering events and may also offer culinary instruction and or demonstrates culinary techniques
