The current opportunity is for a Chef Manager role at Virginia Hospital Center (formerly known as VHC Health), a 453-bed not-for-profit teaching hospital located in Arlington, VA. The hospital is recognized for delivering a comprehensive range of medical services and maintaining a commitment to patient-centred care. As part of Sodexo's food service team at Virginia Hospital Center, the Chef Manager will be instrumental in ensuring an exceptional dining experience for patients, visitors, and staff.

This full-time position operates primarily on a Monday to Friday AM shift schedule, with rotation every third weekend, although schedules may shift to meet business needs. The individual will also contribute to menu planning, inventory management, cost control measures, and adherence to Sodexo and hospital food safety standards.

A critical aspect of the job is to ensure consistency in delivering high-quality food services that meet both company and client expectations. This includes achieving financial targets by managing labor, procurement, and other controllable expenses while maintaining customer relationships and strategic planning for continuous improvement. The Chef Manager will foster a positive and professional work environment, motivating their culinary team to uphold the highest standards of service and quality.

Ideal candidates will have a strong culinary background coupled with proven leadership skills and passion for healthcare food service. Candidates with ServSafe certification and experience managing budgets and procurement compliance are preferred.
