We are currently seeking a dedicated Chef to join our team, responsible for preparing healthy, nutritious dinners that align with our facility's dietary guidelines and therapeutic menus. This position involves implementing menus, coordinating food preparation, and serving meals that support the well-being of our clients and staff. The role requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to maintain a high standard of food safety and cleanliness. As a Chef at New Dawn Treatment Center, you will play a vital part in ensuring our clients receive nourishing meals that support their recovery and overall health. The position includes working 10-hour shifts from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., providing a stable schedule for those seeking consistent hours in a meaningful culinary role. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Current ServSafe Food Handler Certification
- Minimum one year of kitchen or restaurant experience
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to follow detailed recipes and dietary guidelines
Job Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent required
- Current ServSafe Food Handler Card required
- At least one year of experience working in a kitchen or restaurant setting
- Able to work independently with minimal guidance and as part of a team
Job Duties
- Plans and prepares foods in accordance with policies, approved dietary guidelines and recipes/menus
- Plans individual cooking schedule so that foods for regular and therapeutic menus and special functions will be properly cooked and ready at appropriate times
- Follows recipes and portioning procedures for daily menu
- Stores and prepares food safely
- Cleans and inspects equipment, kitchen appliances and work areas to ensure cleanliness and functional operation
- Takes inventory of supplies and equipment
- Checks and inspects food products and supplies as delivered
