Job Requirements

  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends
  • Ability to remain in a stationary position for 2-3 hours at a time
  • Ability to reach, push, grab, pull, bend, stoop, kneel, etc. to retrieve and/or replenish merchandise or handle cooking equipment
  • Ability to move and/or lift merchandise and/or kitchen equipment weighing up to 50 lbs
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned by Resident Chef

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in teaching, food preparation, and catering is preferred
  • Culinary degree or equivalent Chef de Cuisine or Sous Chef experience
  • Previous sales experience is preferred
  • Availability and flexibility to work 3 to 4 events monthly, including evenings and weekends
  • Willing to participate in training provided by ZWILLING J.A. Henckels
  • Valid Food Handlers and/or Food Managers Certification
  • Customer-focused approach with a dedication to inspire and engage class participants
  • Superior organizational skills
  • Demonstrated successful teaching and training experience
  • Excellent communication and customer focused skills with an affinity for cooking
  • Knowledgeable about several cuisines
  • Open-minded to recipes

Job Duties

  • Assist with proper daily class preparation and execution as directed by Resident Chef
  • Manage classes developed by ZWILLING J.A. Henckels
  • Instruct and oversight of kitchen assistants and porters/dish washers
  • Work with the team on cleaning and sanitizing the cooking studio and culinary kitchen after all events
  • Willing to follow all ZWILLING J.A. Henckels provided concepts, menus, and recipes
  • Teach and demonstrate cooking techniques and knife skills
  • Lead instruction for Cooking Studio events and corporate-sponsored programs
  • Provide ongoing coaching and constructive feedback to Kitchen Assistants
  • Utilize strong salesmanship to promote retail sales before, during and after classes
  • Serve as an ambassador of the studio to build class participation and return business
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned by Resident Chef
