Job Requirements
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Degree in culinary arts preferred but not required
- 1-2 years of experience in kitchen operations
- Valid Food Manager Certification required
- Ability to communicate verbally and work cooperatively with customers and team
- Ability to stand for extended periods and move around the store
- Physical capability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform kitchen tasks
- Available to work 12 to 16 hours per week with flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Must comply with food safety, sanitation regulations, and company policies
- Regular and predictable attendance with flexibility for class assignments
Job Qualifications
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Degree in culinary arts preferred or extensive culinary experience
- 1-2 years of kitchen operations experience
- Valid Food Manager Certification
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Passion for community engagement and customer service
- Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
Job Duties
- Represent Sur La Table's brand and culture by creating memorable educational experiences that inspire repeat visits and customer loyalty
- Deliver exceptional in-store culinary experiences focused on pastry and baking classes following company recipes and standards
- Communicate complex pastry techniques in a clear and approachable manner
- Maintain expertise by staying current on products and training
- Drive sales by promoting culinary products and encouraging class sign-ups
- Assist in class setup and breakdown including prepping ingredients and organizing mise en place
- Ensure compliance with food safety standards and store policies
- Maintain cleanliness and safety in kitchen and store environment
- Accurately manage inventory and control culinary expenses
- Model and enforce adherence to company policies and SOPs
