Currently, Bon Appetit is hiring for a full-time Chef position located at Butler University in Indianapolis, Indiana. This role requires candidates to have a minimum of three years of supervisory experience in a scratch kitchen environment. The position offers wages ranging from $21.00 to $25.00 per hour and includes numerous company benefits. Job Duties
- Direct, coordinate and evaluate kitchen, food production, and food-service associates
- Supervise, coordinate and participate in food preparation, cooking and serving
- Ensure all food handling, sanitation and customer service standards are met
- Manage hourly kitchen associates including hiring, scheduling, payroll, training, counseling and disciplinary actions
- Prepare high-quality food according to standardized recipes and service schedules
- Monitor food presentation, quality, portion control and serving temperatures
- Track food usage, waste and inventory needs
- Receive and inspect product and supplies for quality and quantity
- Maintain sanitation of equipment, supplies and utensils
- Clean workstations and display equipment to comply with sanitation and safety standards
- Assist with recipe and menu development
