The full-time Chef role available at ESS Support Services Mining Camps in Anchorage, AK is a critical position that plays a vital role in maintaining the high standards of culinary service the company is known for. This role requires a skilled and motivated individual who can direct, coordinate, and evaluate kitchen operations effectively. The schedule for this position is unique, involving 28 days on and 14 days off, ideal for professionals who excel in intensive work periods in remote environments. Applicants should note that prior offshore or remote site experience and culinary management experience are highly preferred to succeed in this role.
The Chef will oversee the day-to-day kitchen activities including supervising cooks and kitchen staff, ensuring compliance with food handling, sanitation, and customer service standards. The position involves high-quality food preparation in line with standardized recipes and schedules, food presentation, portion control, and temperature maintenance. Additionally, the Chef will be responsible for managing inventory through tracking food use, waste, and purchasing, as well as inspecting received supplies for quality. Maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of equipment and workstations is paramount.
