Job Requirements

  • Associate degree or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of three years of high-volume restaurant or corporate dining experience
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret written instructions
  • Knowledge of food safety and storage practices
  • Strong personal initiative and motivation
  • Commitment to customer service
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Ability to perform physical job requirements
  • Successful completion of required testing

Job Qualifications

  • Associate degree or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of three years of high-volume restaurant or corporate dining experience
  • Upscale culinary experience preferred
  • Ability to interpret written instructions for quality, volume, and presentation
  • Knowledge of food safety production, receiving, and storage practices
  • Strong initiative and motivation
  • Commitment to customer service through positive interaction
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Ability to perform essential physical job requirements

Job Duties

  • Prepare a variety of menu items from scratch for cafeteria and catering services including soups, roasts, casseroles, sauces, vegetables, salads, sandwiches, and bakery products
  • Use scratch cooking and baking techniques such as roasting, sautéing, grilling, steaming, proofing, and baking
  • Research and test menu items to improve quality and healthfulness fitting a wellness profile
  • Practice safe food handling, ergonomic, and personal safety techniques
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
  • Operate and clean equipment following established safety guidelines
  • Support menu management by following recipes, providing feedback, monitoring food inventory and records, and projecting ordering needs
