Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Culinary skills in food preparation, presentation and garnishment
  • Knowledge of basic mathematics with a high degree of accuracy, weights and measures, ability to read computerized recipes and modified diet spreadsheets and experience in directing the work of others
  • Three years quantity cooking experience preferred
  • Food Handler's Permit preferred
  • Knowledge of age-specific nutrition requirements preferred

Job Duties

  • Prepare superior quality food meeting standards for flavor, texture, appearance, temperature, nutritional value, and palatability
  • Ensure correct food handling and sanitary procedures according to health regulatory standards
  • Utilize culinary skills in food preparation, presentation, and garnishment
  • Read and interpret computerized recipes and modified diet spreadsheets
  • Apply knowledge of basic mathematics including weights and measures
  • Direct and coordinate the work of others in food service tasks
  • Comply with patient-specific nutritional requirements as needed
