In this role, Morrison Healthcare is seeking an Executive Sous Chef to join their dynamic culinary team. The Executive Sous Chef will play a crucial role in supporting the Executive Chef in managing kitchen operations and ensuring compliance with safety and sanitation standards. This position involves overseeing the preparation and presentation of meals according to corporate programs and guidelines, while also focusing on cost-effective food production and high-quality menu offerings. The Executive Sous Chef will motivate and train back-of-house employees, assist in planning, ordering, inventory control, and help manage costs to meet budgetary expectations. This role also includes the responsibility of rolling out new culinary programs in partnership with marketing and culinary teams, ensuring that innovations align with current market trends and client needs. This position demands a culinary professional capable of multitasking, problem-solving, and maintaining exceptional standards of food safety and presentation. The candidate will be integral in driving team performance and ensuring that guests receive creative and delicious meals that meet nutritional and quality benchmarks.

Job Requirements

  • B.S. degree in Culinary Arts, Food Services Technology/Management, or related field
  • A.O.S. degree in Culinary Arts with specialized training
  • 3-5 years of relevant culinary experience
  • Applied food service sanitation certification, ServSafe, and/or HACCP certification
  • Ability to think quickly and work under pressure
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of food cost management

Job Qualifications

  • B.S. degree in Culinary Arts, Food Services Technology/Management, or related field
  • A.O.S. degree in Culinary Arts with specialized training
  • 3-5 years of relevant culinary experience
  • Mastery of a wide variety of kitchen positions and stations
  • Ability to think quickly and produce quality food on demand
  • Knowledge of food cost and quality identification
  • Excellent interpersonal, customer service, and communication skills
  • Applied food service sanitation certification, ServSafe, and/or HACCP certification
  • Understanding of current culinary market trends and creative food presentation preferred

Job Duties

  • Assist Executive Chef to assure compliance with sanitation, ServSafe, safety, production, and merchandising requirements
  • Motivate, train, develop and direct back of house employees to achieve operational objectives
  • Ensure high quality food items are creatively prepared and presented cost effectively
  • Assist in planning, ordering, inventory, and food preparation
  • Support management of cost controls and control expenditures
  • Roll out new culinary programs with marketing and culinary teams
  • Perform other duties as assigned
