Currently, Meriwether Godsey is seeking an Executive Chef to lead and manage a high-volume food production program as well as upscale special events and catering services for a private day school program located in northwest Washington, DC. This role is pivotal in delivering outstanding culinary experiences tailored for a primary school setting, combining innovation with a commitment to nutrition and diversity. The Executive Chef will be responsible for overseeing daily food production activities, ensuring the use of locally sourced and organic ingredients, and maintaining current trends and high standards in menu development and food safety compliance.

Job Requirements
- Associate degree or five or more years of related food service experience
- More than five years of experience in contract food service operations, high-end catering management, high-volume dining, and multi-unit experience
- Must provide proof of Covid-19 vaccination, exemptions available upon request
- Application and promotion of current food trends

Job Duties
- Communicate daily with production staff about all food production activities
- Purchase organic and locally produced foods whenever possible and collaborate with production staff to incorporate these into recipes and daily menus
- Oversee menu development, purchasing, and production, incorporating latest trends and practices
- Ensure proper food temperatures are reached, maintained, and recorded
- maintain daily food usage records and organize storage/cooling areas and ensure compliance with other regulations
- Lead by example
- engage and develop direct reports and team members through support, monitoring, coaching, and continuous feedback
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers while researching price variations
- Implement and maintain HACCP standards
- Maintain effective and customer-focused client relationships
- Provide high-end catering services
- Assist with internal financial planning phases, budget/cost analysis, and reporting to establish, monitor, and achieve operational and financial goals
