The role of Cook, specifically the Chef de Partie, at Driftwood Golf & Ranch Club is an essential and dynamic position within the Food and Beverage Culinary Department. This role is perfect for culinary professionals who have a diverse passion for food, mastery in multiple cooking styles, and an eagerness to contribute to a team dedicated to delivering exceptional dining experiences. The Chef de Partie supports the culinary operations by assisting with food preparation, overseeing deliveries, maintaining kitchen cleanliness, and ensuring the high quality of every food item prepared. This position demands attention to detail, leadership in organizing and guiding cook teams during events and daily kitchen functions, and adherence to food safety and sanitation standards, including proper labeling and storage. The Cook collaborates closely with other culinary and Food & Beverage leaders to uphold exemplary standards and foster continual improvement throughout the culinary operations.
This role requires consistency in overseeing food quality—checking for taste, temperature, and presentation—while ensuring all dishes meet uniformity and portion standards outlined by the executive culinary team. The Chef de Partie is responsible for equipment maintenance in the kitchen area and contributes to a clean, compliant, and professionally maintained work environment. The position requires flexibility to work varying hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, reflecting the dynamic nature of hospitality services. Job Requirements
- Must be able to work flexible work hours/schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Long hours may be required due to business demands
- Positive attitude, professional demeanor, and exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to deliver service to members, guests, and team members
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Ability to stay calm and focused during the busiest of times
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, and a shift greater than eight (8) hours in length
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
- additional languages preferred
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the position including, but not limited to, working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, standing, walking, and moving for periods of greater than eight (8) hours, and lifting and carrying items sometimes greater than fifty (50) pounds
Job Qualifications
- Minimum 4 years of full-service restaurant experience as a lead line cook or relevant position strongly preferred
- Culinary degree/certification(s) or relevant on job experience recommended
- Advanced knife skill set
- Knowledge of ServSafe and safe food handling practices
- Farm-to-table experience highly preferred
Job Duties
- Work with all culinary and F&B leaders to create exemplary culinary standards and an environment of continual improvement
- Ability to organize and lead a team of cooks by assigning specific duties related to events and event prep
- Responsible for the quality of all food items prepared in the kitchen and ensures standard recipes are being followed on a consistent basis
- Consistently checks food for taste, temperature and visual appeal
- The Chef de Partie assigns in detail specific duties to all employees under his supervision and instructs them in their work
- Ensuring all dishes are uniform on your station and that established portion sizes are adhered to as per the specifications set out by culinary leadership
- Ensure cooks work in accordance to health and sanitation standards including ensuring all products are properly labeled and dated
