Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 3-5 years of relevant culinary experience preferably in high-volume or hotel settings
- HACCP certification
- food handler card
- proficient spoken English
- ability to work flexible hours including weekends
- strong knowledge of food safety regulations including City of Austin standards
- excellent leadership and communication skills
Job Qualifications
- Possess HACCP certification and Food Handler Card
- hold a degree in Culinary Arts Hotel and Restaurant Management or related fields
- 3-5 years of proven experience in high-end high-volume dining with preference for hotel experience
- high-level proficiency in spoken English basic verbal Spanish communication is a plus
- willingness to work a range of shifts including weekends
Job Duties
- Thoroughly inspect deliveries emphasizing quality quantity and adherence to food safety standards
- serve as the daily face of food production ensuring every dish meets exacting standards
- conduct safety training on food handling equipment emphasizing compliance with City of Austin regulations
- organize and supervise the work of cooks and apprentices instilling a culture of excellence and efficiency
- assist in the production and maintenance of par stocks optimizing costs and minimizing raw material wastage
- contribute creatively to menu development bringing fresh ideas and culinary excellence
- maintain impeccable personal presentation and uphold exceptional guest service delivery standards
- demonstrate proficiency in food and wage cost control
