Job Description
Canyon Ranch is a pioneering company in integrative wellness and hospitality, with a rich history spanning over 40 years. Established as a leader in the wellness industry, Canyon Ranch operates iconic properties in Tucson and Lenox and is set to expand its footprint with a new destination opening in Austin in 2026. The company is committed to creating transformative experiences for its guests by combining world-class service, innovative wellness programming, and extraordinary hospitality. At the heart of Canyon Ranch's mission is the dedication to enhancing the health and well-being of its guests through comprehensive and thoughtful services that address both physical and mental health needs. This focus on holistic wellness has positioned Canyon Ranch as a respected and sought-after destination for individuals seeking balance, rejuvenation, and lifestyle transformation.
The Chef de Partie role at Canyon Ranch is a critical position within the culinary team, responsible for maintaining the highest standards of food quality in both preparation and presentation. This role encourages a healthy work-life balance, offering daytime and early evening shifts without the late nights typically associated with kitchen roles. The Chef de Partie will play a key role in ensuring that the culinary offerings align with Canyon Ranch's nutrition philosophy, adhering to strict recipes and presentation standards to deliver meals that support the overall wellness goals of the company. This involves a combination of hands-on cooking, overseeing food safety compliance, and supervising kitchen staff to ensure seamless service during meal times.
In addition to culinary expertise, the Chef de Partie is expected to uphold the policies and procedures of both the kitchen and the larger Canyon Ranch organization, including compliance with Serv-Safe procedures and local health regulations. This position requires a proactive and organized individual who can manage both the operational aspects of the kitchen and minimal administrative duties. The Chef de Partie will also be an ambassador of the Canyon Ranch philosophy, understanding and communicating the company's wellness principles and menu ingredients knowledgeably to both guests and team members.
Key responsibilities include daily supervision of culinary staff to ensure readiness and adherence to schedules, inspection and troubleshooting of kitchen stations, and ensuring that all menu items meet Canyon Ranch's consistent quality and nutritional standards. The role demands attention to detail in taste testing and quality assurance pre-service, as well as enforcement of stringent health and safety protocols throughout the kitchen environment. The Chef de Partie will also address any health or safety hazards promptly, collaborating with facilities management to resolve issues.
Canyon Ranch offers its colleagues exceptional benefits, including access to spa services, fitness classes, educational lectures, and the opportunity to stay overnight at any Canyon Ranch location nationwide. Employees enjoy a generous health plan covering medical, dental, and vision care after 30 days, along with 25 days of paid personal time off, including vacation, sick, and holiday leave. Additional offerings include supplemental health care options such as accidental, critical illness, and hospital care coverage, employer-paid life insurance, an employee assistance program, paid maternity leave, and complimentary weekday meals provided by the culinary team. The hourly pay rate for the Chef de Partie position is $22.00, reflecting the company’s commitment to offering competitive compensation while fostering a supportive and balanced work environment.
