Job Description

Spring Hills Lake Mary is a distinguished senior living community located in Lake Mary, Florida, dedicated to providing exceptional care, comfort, and support to its residents. The community focuses on enhancing the quality of life for seniors through compassionate services and a nurturing environment that promotes independence and well-being. Known for its welcoming atmosphere and resident-centered approach, Spring Hills Lake Mary prides itself on fostering a vibrant community where seniors can enjoy an active and fulfilling lifestyle. With a commitment to excellence, the establishment integrates quality healthcare, recreational activities, and personalized support to meet the unique needs of each resident.

We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Chef de Cuisine to join our culinary team on a full-time basis. The role is pivotal in maintaining high culinary standards and ensuring that residents receive nutritious, delicious meals tailored to their dietary requirements and preferences. The position operates within a structured schedule with shifts from 6:00am to 2:00pm and 11:00am to 7:00pm, offering a balanced workday in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

As Chef de Cuisine, you will play a crucial role in both the hands-on preparation of meals and the overall management of kitchen operations. Teamwork and communication with the Executive Chef and kitchen staff form the cornerstone of this position. You will support day-to-day kitchen activities, ensure adherence to portioning and presentation guidelines, and uphold stringent food safety and sanitation standards. Your culinary expertise will help shape menus that accommodate specialized dietary needs, including prescribed diets for seniors, and contribute to creating positive dining experiences that enhance residents' quality of life.

The ideal candidate will have at least three years of culinary experience, accompanied by a solid understanding of food safety protocols such as ServSafe certification. A culinary degree is preferred but not mandatory, and prior experience in skilled nursing facilities or assisted living environments is a strong advantage. This role demands excellent leadership abilities as you will be responsible for training and guiding kitchen staff, managing food and labor costs, and sustaining an organized and efficient kitchen environment.

Beyond technical skills, the Chef de Cuisine should exhibit passion for culinary arts, strong attention to detail, and a professional yet warm demeanor that aligns with the values of Spring Hills Lake Mary. The ability to work on your feet for extended periods, handle physical kitchen tasks, and communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members is essential.

This position offers an excellent opportunity for culinary professionals who thrive in an environment where their work directly impacts the well-being and happiness of seniors. Join us in our mission to provide superior dining experiences that truly make a difference. Spring Hills Lake Mary values diversity and inclusion, and we encourage applicants from all backgrounds to consider this exciting culinary leadership role.
