The role of Chef de Cuisine (Banquets) at Hyatt Regency Newport Beach is a vital leadership position responsible for managing a specific food outlet within the hotel, particularly focusing on banquet operations. Hyatt Regency Newport Beach offers competitive compensation for the Chef de Cuisine position, with a salary range from $82,000 to $102,000 annually. The exact salary will be determined based on the candidate’s education, experience, and qualifications. Job Requirements

  • culinary education and/or on the job training
  • hospitality experience is preferred
  • ability to work a flexible schedule, including holidays and weekends
  • possess in-depth knowledge of kitchen operations
  • experience in leadership and staff management
  • demonstrated ability in customer service and financial management
  • proficiency in basic computer skills
  • authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship

Job Duties

  • act as senior leadership by developing and assuming key management responsibilities
  • assume the role of liaison between all banquet operations and culinary staff
  • supervise the preparation and cooking of various food items
  • develop and implement creative menu items within the banquet concept
  • plan, coordinate and implement special events and functions
  • manage hourly kitchen employees through scheduling, payroll, training, coaching, evaluating and hiring
  • lead and coach the team towards achieving exceptional guest service and employee satisfaction results
  • monitor food production, ordering, cost, and quality and consistency on a daily basis
