The available position of Chef de Cuisine at Lettuce Entertain You represents a significant leadership role within their newest restaurant venture. This role is ideal for experienced chefs who have demonstrated excellence and leadership in full-service restaurant kitchens. The Chef de Cuisine will play a pivotal role in overseeing all back-of-house operations and ensuring the highest quality food production and kitchen management. With at least 2 years of chef experience required and a competitive salary range from $70,000 to $90,000 annually, this opportunity also offers a quarterly bonus, paid time off including holidays and personal days, and comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance options.
This role demands a skilled leader capable of managing food orders, inventory, and pricing updates while maintaining inventory efficiency and compliance with health inspections. The successful candidate will lead and mentor kitchen staff, fostering teamwork and upholding the restaurant's standards for food quality and safety. The Chef de Cuisine will coordinate closely with the General Manager and management team to ensure smooth daily operations, menu changes, and strategic staffing decisions. Moreover, this position requires excellent communication skills to synchronize front-of-house and back-of-house operations effectively.
In addition to the operational responsibilities, this role includes extensive employee development duties, from interviewing and onboarding to training and supervising all kitchen team members. The Chef de Cuisine must be adept at problem-solving and managing challenging situations involving guests, vendors, and staff with tact and professionalism. The job requires flexibility in working a variety of shifts, including early mornings, late nights, weekends, and possibly travel between multiple sites. Physically, the role involves lifting and moving items up to 50 pounds occasionally.
