Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • several years of culinary experience in a professional kitchen
  • leadership experience in culinary operations
  • strong organizational and time management skills
  • ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • knowledge of food allergens and safe food handling
  • ability to mentor and develop team members

Job Qualifications

  • Experience working in a high-volume professional kitchen
  • passion for the culinary arts
  • proven track record of creating seasonal and creative menus
  • ability to lead and motivate a culinary team
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • culinary education or certification preferred

Job Duties

  • Serve as the face of the restaurant in the hotel and community
  • create, cost, and implement seasonal menus and special menus
  • attract, retain, and mentor the best culinary talent
  • complete the daily ordering using current par levels
  • collaborate with the Restaurant Manager to exceed guest expectations
  • train the restaurant culinary and operations team on the menu and daily specials
  • conduct daily walkthroughs of the kitchen, recommend corrections, repairs, cleanliness improvements
  • hold daily team meetings to ensure preparation and communication
  • attend weekly F&B meetings, leadership meetings, and monthly safety meetings
  • manage costs related to the restaurant and analyze to achieve profitability
  • handle food allergens with urgency
  • update and use prep sheets properly
  • oversee nightly cleaning of kitchen areas and follow up with stewarding crew
