Nestled on a sprawling 440-acre campus in Litchfield Park, AZ, The Wigwam is a Four Diamond resort featuring 331 guest rooms and provides guests with an authentic Arizona experience. The Wigwam continues to attract guests through its rich heritage and commitment to delivering exceptional service. Currently, The Wigwam seeks a Chef de Cuisine to join its Culinary team. This role is ideal for an individual with a passion for the culinary arts and leadership experience in a high-volume professional kitchen environment.
The Chef de Cuisine will serve as the culinary leader who not only oversees the daily production, preparation, and presentation of high-quality food in a safe and sanitary environment but also acts as an ambassador for the restaurant within the hotel and local community. This hands-on leader is responsible for creating innovative seasonal menus that utilize fresh, seasonal ingredients and align with the restaurant's concept. The ideal candidate is a creative, motivated professional who enjoys mentoring and developing culinary team members. Responsibilities extend to managing costs, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations, guiding kitchen cleanliness, and maintaining an engaging and inspiring work atmosphere. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- several years of culinary experience in a professional kitchen
- leadership experience in culinary operations
- strong organizational and time management skills
- ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- knowledge of food allergens and safe food handling
- ability to mentor and develop team members
Job Qualifications
- Experience working in a high-volume professional kitchen

- culinary education or certification preferred
Job Duties
- Serve as the face of the restaurant in the hotel and community
- create, cost, and implement seasonal menus and special menus
- attract, retain, and mentor the best culinary talent
- complete the daily ordering using current par levels
- collaborate with the Restaurant Manager to exceed guest expectations
- train the restaurant culinary and operations team on the menu and daily specials
- conduct daily walkthroughs of the kitchen, recommend corrections, repairs, cleanliness improvements
- hold daily team meetings to ensure preparation and communication
- attend weekly F&B meetings, leadership meetings, and monthly safety meetings
- manage costs related to the restaurant and analyze to achieve profitability
- handle food allergens with urgency
- update and use prep sheets properly
- oversee nightly cleaning of kitchen areas and follow up with stewarding crew
