Job Description

The Colorado Convention Center, located in the vibrant city of Denver, CO, is a premier venue known for hosting a wide array of events, ranging from large-scale conventions and trade shows to concerts and community gatherings. As a central hub for cultural and business activities, the Convention Center prides itself on delivering exceptional services to its visitors and clients, ensuring each event is executed flawlessly. Integral to this experience is the Center's commitment to providing outstanding culinary services, facilitated by a dedicated team of food service professionals who operate in a high-volume, dynamic environment.

We are currently seeking an experienced Chef de Cuisine to join our culinary team and play a critical role in sustaining the high standards and smooth operations of our kitchen departments. This position demands a professional who thrives in fast-paced settings and is passionate about culinary excellence and team leadership. The Chef de Cuisine will lead by example, overseeing daily kitchen activities to secure consistency, efficiency, and superior food quality across all service points at the Center.

As a key member of our kitchen leadership, the Chef de Cuisine has the responsibility to support and guide culinary team members, ensuring they are well-trained, motivated, and aligned with the Center's culinary goals. This role involves not only managing food preparation and presentation according to established standards but also collaborating on menu development and seasonal offerings to enhance the guest experience. The incumbent will be accountable for upholding rigorous compliance with food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety regulations, ensuring a safe and clean kitchen environment that meets all regulatory requirements.

In addition to culinary and safety oversight, the Chef de Cuisine will be instrumental in maintaining operational discipline by monitoring food and labor costs, thereby supporting the Center’s financial objectives without compromising quality. Inventory management, equipment upkeep, and kitchen organization fall under this role’s purview, requiring a detail-oriented and proactive approach that fosters operational excellence.

This is a specialized individual contributor role that combines independent work with collaborative teamwork, allowing the Chef de Cuisine to leverage their specialized skills to complete critical tasks and projects that contribute directly to the success of both event-day and non-event food services. With a salary range of $70,000 to $73,000 annually, this opportunity offers a competitive compensation package reflective of the candidate's experience and skills.

Joining our team means becoming part of Sodexo’s wider mission to enhance quality of life and create positive impacts through integrated food service and hospitality solutions. Sodexo is committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace where all individuals are valued and respected. We offer comprehensive benefits that include medical, dental, vision care, wellness programs, a 401(k) plan with matching contributions, paid time off, company holidays, and career growth opportunities including tuition reimbursement. At the Colorado Convention Center, you will have the chance to elevate your culinary career while contributing to creating memorable experiences for our guests and clients in one of the city's most dynamic venues.
