Job Description

Napa Music Hall is Napa's newest live music and arts venue located in the vibrant downtown area of Napa, California. Housed within the historic Napa Valley Opera House, this venue has been thoughtfully reimagined into two distinct event spaces designed to offer diverse entertainment experiences. Upstairs, The Ballroom welcomes up to 650 guests and is perfect for high energy performances and large-scale live events. Below, The Club provides a more intimate setting with seating for 160 guests, hosting jazz, blues, acoustic music, comedy, and various other performances. Under new management starting in 2026, Napa Music Hall is poised to become a premier cultural hotspot, attracting both headline acts and emerging artists to the region.

As part of this exciting evolution, Napa Music Hall is seeking a dedicated and experienced Kitchen Manager to lead the culinary operations of the venue. This full-time position offers an annual salary range between $71,000 and $85,000, commensurate with experience. The Kitchen Manager role is critical in ensuring that all food served meets the highest standards of quality, presentation, and service, aligning with the venue’s reputation for excellence.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing daily kitchen activities with professionalism and leadership. This includes managing and training kitchen staff, ensuring recipe adherence, maintaining cleanliness and food safety standards, and managing inventory and food costs. Napa Music Hall requires a Kitchen Manager who can efficiently handle high-volume food service demands associated with large events while also managing more specialized catering for high-end occasions.

Candidates should possess a minimum of three years of hands-on kitchen management or supervisory experience. They must be skilled in menu planning and execution and proficient in managing kitchen operations including scheduling, training, and evaluating staff members. A thorough understanding of food purchasing, inventory management, and cost control is essential for success in this role. The candidate should be passionate about providing high-quality food and service, be detail-oriented, responsible, and capable of thriving in a fast-paced, diverse team environment.

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are required to maintain strong relationships with the team and company stakeholders. The Kitchen Manager must be able to meet deadlines under pressure, demonstrating leadership that fosters teamwork and efficiency. A California Food Handlers Manager Certification is mandatory.

This position offers the opportunity to work in a cultural landmark with a dedicated team where culinary creativity and operational excellence are valued. The Kitchen Manager will play a pivotal role in shaping the food experience that complements Napa Music Hall’s distinguished live entertainment offerings. Experience with computer software such as Word, Excel, and email is required, and the kitchen operates on a 12-hour evening shift basis. This in-person role is based in Napa, California, providing a unique chance to contribute to one of the region’s premier arts venues.
