3 Peaks Restaurant is a distinguished dining establishment known for delivering exceptional culinary experiences and outstanding guest service. As a core part of a vibrant casino environment, 3 Peaks Restaurant prides itself on maintaining high standards in food preparation, presentation, and hospitality. The restaurant is committed to upholding the values and mission of the larger casino entity, striving to create a welcoming and dynamic atmosphere that appeals to both locals and visitors. The team at 3 Peaks Restaurant works cohesively to ensure an unparalleled dining experience while adhering to stringent safety and sanitation policies, maintaining the integrity of the culinary and dining environment. The restaurant functions as an integral part of the casino’s food and beverage department, emphasizing quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction across all operations.
The role available at 3 Peaks Restaurant is that of a Kitchen Supervisor, which is a key managerial position reporting directly to the Executive Chef. This position is crafted for an experienced culinary professional who is passionate about food preparation, kitchen management, and team leadership. The Kitchen Supervisor acts as the Executive Chef’s right hand, assisting with managerial duties and stepping in as a back-up when needed. This ensures the seamless operation of the kitchen in the absence of the Executive Chef. The role requires someone who is adept at managing daily kitchen activities, from overseeing food purchasing and inventory management to training staff and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
The Kitchen Supervisor is responsible for maintaining department objectives, standards, and budgets, focusing on controlling food and labor costs while reducing waste. They will be responsible for purchasing and monitoring food orders, inventory tracking, staff scheduling, and supervising food preparation to meet the restaurant’s quality standards. This role requires strong multitasking skills and the ability to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously. Providing coaching, motivation, and evaluations to the kitchen staff is a key component of this role as well, ensuring all team members have the necessary resources and guidance to succeed.
Beyond operational oversight, the Kitchen Supervisor is charged with maintaining the highest levels of cleanliness and sanitation within the kitchen, adhering to internal controls and health department standards. Regular walkthrough inspections are essential to identify any facility needs and to delegate tasks to maintain standards. The Supervisor also plays an important role in guest satisfaction by ensuring a cheerful atmosphere and high-quality food services that meet or exceed customer expectations.
Additionally, this position requires collaboration with other food and beverage department members, filling in where needed, and addressing potential issues related to meal presentation, taste, or quality. Effective communication skills are critical, as well as a hospitality-centered mindset geared toward resolving complaints and providing excellent guest service. Training and mentoring Spokane Tribal Members is emphasized to promote a sense of ownership and community within the workplace.
Candidates for this role should have a strong background in culinary arts, preferably holding a Culinary Degree or ACF Certification. A minimum of eight years of progressive culinary experience, including at least three years in a supervisory or management role such as Kitchen Supervisor, Kitchen Manager, or Sous Chef, is required. Candidates must have excellent administrative skills, including creating schedules, issuing coaching and corrective actions, managing budgets, and controlling food costs. Knowledge of commercial kitchen operations, food handling procedures, and recipe execution is crucial.
The working conditions involve physical demands such as standing or walking for extended periods, working in varying noise levels and temperature conditions, and exposure to kitchen equipment and tools. A State or Tribal Gaming License is required to fulfill this role, reflecting the operational environment within the casino. This position offers an exciting opportunity for culinary professionals who thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and who are committed to excellence in all aspects of kitchen management and guest service.
