Located along the scenic Highway 1 and just 15 minutes away from beautiful beaches, hiking trails, and the vibrant downtown area of Santa Barbara, our boutique hotel offers a unique and serene experience for guests. Situated conveniently under 10 minutes from key transportation hubs like the airport and Amtrak station, as well as the University of California-Santa Barbara, our hotel is a prime destination for travelers seeking both comfort and proximity to attractions. Additionally, nearby landmarks such as Sandpiper Golf Club, Lake Los Carneros, and the Goleta Monarch Butterfly Grove enhance the appeal of our location, providing guests with a diverse range of recreational activities.
The hotel is managed by SPIRE Hospitality, a reputable company with a national presence that specializes in delivering exceptional guest experiences and providing best-in-class service across their hotels and resorts. SPIRE Hospitality focuses on supporting its teams through comprehensive resources, tools, and opportunities designed to foster professional growth and empower hospitality careers. Employees enjoy working in a collaborative environment that promotes personal development and excellence.
We are currently seeking a dedicated and highly motivated Kitchen Manager to lead our Food & Beverage Culinary team. This full-time role offers a salary range of $80,000 to $90,000, commensurate with experience. As a pivotal leader within the culinary department, the Kitchen Manager will inspire and empower the team of chefs to uphold the highest standards of food preparation and presentation, ensuring exceptional quality that delights our guests. This role demands a strategic leader who can manage daily kitchen operations efficiently while nurturing a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
The Kitchen Manager will take charge of mentoring and collaborating with chefs, overseeing culinary activities to maintain premium quality, and contributing creatively to innovative menu development and promotional initiatives. A key aspect of the position is fostering strong interdepartmental relationships, particularly between Food & Beverage and other hotel functions, to deliver a seamless guest experience. Maintaining rigorous standards of product quality, presentation, and operational efficiency is critical. Responsibilities also include conducting audits of inventory and storage areas to confirm safety, cleanliness, and compliance with food handling regulations.
From a physical standpoint, the Kitchen Manager should be capable of handling the physical demands of the role, including lifting up to 200 pounds, standing and moving for extended periods, and utilizing all kitchen equipment effectively. The position requires a candidate with a formal culinary education or apprenticeship preferred, alongside substantial cooking experience in hotel environments, and relevant certifications, including Food Handlers, Alcohol Beverage Servers, and OSHA knowledge. Basic financial acumen is also necessary to assist in preparing financial reports.
This position reflects SPIRE Hospitality's commitment to equal opportunity employment practices, valuing diversity and inclusion in the workplace. The Kitchen Manager will play an integral role in sustaining our reputation for outstanding hospitality service, contributing to repeat business and customer satisfaction in a dynamic and beautiful setting.
