The role of Chef de Cuisine at LifeWorks is a critical leadership position that involves overseeing all aspects of culinary operations in one of their premier locations. The Chef de Cuisine will lead a dedicated kitchen team, ensuring the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and sanitation are met consistently. This role demands a hands-on approach to culinary leadership with responsibilities spanning menu development, recipe standardization, purchasing, staff training, and special event catering management. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2-3 years of culinary experience in a related position
  • 2-3 years of post-high school education, preferably a culinary degree
  • advanced knowledge of culinary principles and practices
  • experience managing kitchen staff and culinary operations
  • strong communication skills
  • ability to maintain kitchen safety and sanitation standards

Job Qualifications

  • Requires at least 2-3 years in a related position
  • requires at least 2-3 years of post-high school education, preferably a culinary degree
  • requires advanced knowledge of the principles and practices within the food profession
  • requires experiential knowledge of management of people and/or problems

Job Duties

  • Trains and leads kitchen personnel
  • supervises and coordinates all culinary activities
  • estimates food consumption and requisitions or purchases food
  • selects and develops recipes and standardizes production recipes to ensure consistent quality
  • establishes presentation techniques and quality standards
  • plans and prices menus
  • ensures proper equipment operation and maintenance
  • ensures proper safety and sanitation in the kitchen
  • oversees special catering events
  • offers culinary instruction or demonstrates culinary techniques
