HELLO BETTY Bethesda is a distinguished dining establishment located in the heart of the vibrant Pike & Rose community. This 3,000-square-foot restaurant is situated on the 3rd floor of the Canopy by Hilton Hotel at 940 Rose Avenue, Bethesda, strategically positioned to serve both locals and visitors alike. The venue is known for its inviting ambiance, featuring 138 seats including a uniquely designed 26-seat Tea Room perfect for private gatherings and special experiences. A standout feature of HELLO BETTY Bethesda is its outdoor patio, which boasts a 40-foot Delta Deadrise boat that has been innovatively transformed into a full-service bar. This real boat bar offers 23 bar seats and approximately 50 additional patio table seats, creating an exceptional, dynamic outdoor dining environment that is both memorable and distinctive.

The position available is for a dedicated and experienced kitchen manager who will oversee the kitchen staff and ensure the daily production, preparation, and presentation of all food for both the restaurant and room service meet rigorous standards. The role involves managing kitchen operations within a safe and sanitary work environment that complies with all local, state, and federal regulations as well as franchise standards. The kitchen manager will be responsible for maintaining profitability through diligent management of food and labor costs while upholding product quality. This includes assisting the Executive Chef in menu development and production adjustments to keep offerings fresh, competitive, and aligned with guest expectations.

This management role also includes human resource responsibilities such as recruiting, hiring, scheduling, training, and developing kitchen staff. The kitchen manager is expected to foster a positive work environment that motivates employees, encourages open communication, and maintains high standards of service. Performance assessments, salary reviews, and disciplinary actions will also be a part of this role to ensure consistent management and quality control.

Additionally, the kitchen manager will oversee the maintenance and sanitation of kitchen equipment and areas, ensuring compliance with stringent health and safety regulations. Cost control is a key focus, requiring the preparation of reports, charts, and schedules to monitor labor and food expenses while striving for improvement and budget adherence. Promoting accident prevention programs is critical to minimize liabilities and contribute to a safe workplace.

This full-time position offers a competitive salary range between USD $85,000.00 and USD $88,000.00 per year, with comprehensive benefits that begin shortly after hire. Job Requirements

  • High school education or equivalent
  • One to two years of employment in a related position
  • Advanced knowledge of food service management principles and practices
  • Ability to lift, push, pull and carry heavy items
  • Ability to bend knees frequently for cooking tasks
  • Full mobility to travel 30-50 feet regularly
  • Ability to stand continuously during preparation and service
  • Moderate hearing and excellent vision
  • Moderate comprehension and literacy to read records and requests
  • Ability to work in varying temperatures from -10 to over 100 degrees inside the kitchen environment
