The Pillars of Prospect Park is a vibrant senior living community located conveniently near the University of Minnesota campus in Minneapolis, MN. Opened in 2020, this community is composed of two buildings that house a total of 283 apartments, including 133 independent living units, 106 assisted living accommodations, and 44 memory care apartments. The location benefits from easy access to public transportation with the nearby light rail transit station and metro bus stops, making it highly accessible for residents, visitors, and staff. The community also features an on-site Intergenerational Child Care Center, emphasizing a unique blend of senior and child care services under one roof.
Managed by Ebenezer, the largest senior living operator in Minnesota, the Pillars of Prospect Park is dedicated to providing exemplary services that contribute to the health and well-being of its residents. Ebenezer’s mission centers on helping seniors heal, discover, and educate to promote longer, healthier, and more meaningful lives. This mission permeates every aspect of the Pillars of Prospect Park community, shaping a culture that values compassion, respect, and excellence.
The role of the Chef at the Pillars of Prospect Park is an integral part of this mission, responsible for ensuring the preparation and presentation of meals that meet regulatory standards as well as residents' expectations. The Chef plays a key role in the dining experience, ensuring that all food items are prepared to the correct temperatures and portion sizes, based on standardized recipes that preserve nutritional value and quality. This position involves preparing and assembling meals and bakery items efficiently within specified timeframes, adhering to dietary needs including texturized diets compliant with International Dysphagia Diet Standardization Initiative (IDDSI) standards. The Chef is expected to maintain a pristine and sanitary kitchen environment, following established cleaning protocols and using appropriate equipment and cleaning agents.
Leadership and supervisory skills are necessary for this role, as the Chef is responsible for managing kitchen staff and operations in the absence of the supervisor. Effective communication skills are also essential to manage resident and guest feedback regarding meal and service quality, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction. The role requires working a schedule of 48 hours every two weeks, covering Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday from 8:30am to 7:00pm.
The pay range for this position is $22.01 to $30.83 per hour, reflecting factors such as skill level, knowledge, relevant education, experience, and market conditions, with a focus on internal pay equity. The Pillars of Prospect Park offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision plans, life insurance, disability insurance, paid time off, tuition reimbursement, retirement plans, early access to earned wages, among others. This role is suited for a motivated individual ready to contribute to a meaningful community service, with opportunities for professional growth within a respected senior living organization.
