One of its premier communities, Jones-Harrison Senior Living, located in Minneapolis, MN, offers a welcoming and supportive environment for its residents. This community provides a variety of care options including Assisted Living, Memory Care, Skilled Nursing, and Long-Term Care. It is uniquely positioned near convenient metro bus stops, surrounded by serene views of Cedar Lake and beautifully maintained grounds, creating a peaceful atmosphere for residents and staff alike.

Jones-Harrison Senior Living houses 53 Assisted Living apartments, 9 Memory Care units, and 120 skilled nursing and long-term care beds. The Cook/Chef role at Ebenezer, specifically within the Jones-Harrison campus, is crucial for maintaining high culinary standards while aiming to enhance the dining experience of its senior residents. This full-time position offers 64 hours biweekly, primarily during day shifts, and requires availability every other weekend. The role focuses heavily on preparing meals according to standardized recipes ensuring quality nutrition and visual appeal that encourages food consumption by residents.

Cooks and chefs in this role are responsible for not only food preparation but also for maintaining cleanliness and safety standards in compliance with infection control policies. Job Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • ServSafe certification or ability to acquire within 90 days
  • Basic math skills
  • Comfortable with Microsoft applications
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to work every other weekend
  • Availability for full-time day shift hours

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Prepare meals by following standardized recipes
  • Handle and prepare food safely following policies and infection control standards
  • Ensure timely meal production and service to residents
  • Set up line service
  • Clean and sanitize equipment and workspace after use
  • Assist with special events
  • Support the Culinary Director with supervision and training of culinary staff
