Job Description

Buckingham Heights, LLC stands as Connecticut's premier memory care community, dedicated to providing exceptional living experiences for residents with memory challenges. Situated in a peaceful and supportive environment, Buckingham Heights offers specialized care tailored to meet the unique needs of each individual. The community focuses on delivering not only outstanding healthcare but also a welcoming atmosphere that fosters dignity, respect, and enrichment. With a commitment to quality, Buckingham Heights emphasizes compassionate care, professional staff, and a holistic approach to wellness, making it a trusted choice for families seeking memory care services in Connecticut.

The role of Chef/Cook at Buckingham Heights is a vital one, pivotal to enhancing residents' daily experiences through exceptional culinary offerings. This full-time position is perfect for culinary professionals who are passionate about creating delicious, nutritious meals and understand the importance of food in promoting health and happiness, especially in a memory care setting. Unlike traditional restaurant roles, this position offers a balanced schedule without long, late-night shifts, ensuring a better work-life balance.

As the Chef/Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and/or overseeing the preparation, seasoning, and cooking of an extensive variety of foods including salads, soups, fish, meats, vegetables, desserts, and other dishes. Every meal you prepare will meet exemplary restaurant-quality standards, be nutritionally balanced, and attractively presented to appeal to the residents’ diverse palates and dietary needs. There is a strong emphasis on understanding special diets and dietary restrictions prevalent among memory care residents, making it important to have knowledge about seasoning requirements, cooking times, and temperature controls.

Buckingham Heights prides itself on fostering a supportive work environment where your culinary skills are valued and your contributions directly improve residents’ quality of life. The role not only demands expertise in cooking for large groups but also a caring attitude and flexibility to adapt to the unique environment of memory care. You will play a critical role in enriching residents’ daily routines and creating enjoyable meal experiences that contribute to their overall wellness.

The community offers attractive compensation based on experience, coupled with two pay increases annually to reward commitment and excellence. Employees benefit from the Dayforce Wallet program, allowing greater flexibility in managing paydays according to individual preferences. Additionally, staff enjoy exclusive hotel employee discounts, a unique benefit that reflects Buckingham Heights’ appreciation for its team members. The community's commitment to equal employment opportunity ensures a diverse and inclusive workplace where all qualified individuals are welcome to apply regardless of background or personal characteristics.

Joining Buckingham Heights as a Chef/Cook means becoming part of a dedicated team focused on delivering the highest quality of memory care and enhancing residents’ lives through outstanding cuisine and service. This opportunity offers a meaningful career path with room for personal and professional growth, supported by a company that values respect, diversity, and employee well-being.
