As a Chef here, you will play a crucial role in supporting the kitchen operations by preparing and cooking food for residents and staff in compliance with established standards and regulatory requirements. This position demands creativity, precision, and a heartfelt commitment to culinary excellence. You will be responsible for using standardized recipes to ensure all prepared items meet rigorous criteria concerning temperature, quality, consistency, freshness, taste, and appearance. Beyond meal preparation, the role includes tasks such as advanced preparation for meal service, monitoring and recording food temperatures, tasting all dishes to guarantee quality, cleaning the preparation areas and equipment, and labeling food containers appropriately. Also, maintaining required logs such as temperature, delivery, and sanitation records is part of the daily routine. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 6-12 months of cooking experience required
- Complete Food Safety Training within 90 days of hire
- Valid Michigan driver's license or State ID
- Must pass a basic physical and criminal background check

Job Duties
- Complete advance prep as needed for meal service
- Check and record food temperatures
- Taste all prepared items
- Clean prep area and equipment after use
- Label all food containers with date, time, and item description
- Maintain required logs (temperature, delivery, sanitation, etc.)
- Respect and uphold resident rights in daily practices
