Founded over a century ago, Nordstrom has established itself as a leader in the upscale department store sector, consistently delivering an exceptional shopping experience to customers across the United States and Canada. The company operates a variety of retail formats, including full-line stores, Nordstrom Rack outlets, and an increasingly robust online platform. With a focus on customer service excellence, Nordstrom values employees as its most important assets and strives to foster an inclusive and supportive workplace environment. This opportunity is for a Chef position within Nordstrom's restaurant team. This role offers a unique chance to blend culinary expertise with management skills, ideal for those passionate about creating quality food in an upscale restaurant environment. Offering a $250 sign-on bonus following 30 days of employment, the position promises competitive pay ranging from $55,500 to $89,000 annually, reflecting the candidate's location, experience, and qualifications. The role also includes eligibility for performance-based incentives and bonuses. The Chef will take part in a comprehensive Manager in Training program designed to equip them with the operational knowledge needed to run a successful kitchen. This program covers every aspect, from leading the kitchen crew in scratch cooking established recipes to designing and preparing weekly specials that excite customers. Beyond culinary duties, the Chef will be responsible for training and developing kitchen staff, driving business goals related to efficiency, profitability, and compliance, and ensuring the kitchen meets high cleanliness standards, ready to pass any inspection tests.

Working at Nordstrom means becoming part of a company that supports its employees with an extensive benefits package, including medical, vision, dental, life insurance, disability insurance, a 401(k) retirement plan, paid time off, and merchandise discounts. This position targets individuals with at least two years of experience in full-service, upscale restaurant management, a passion for quality cuisine and customer service, strong communication and basic accounting skills, and a valid food handler's card where required. The Chef role embodies a balance between creativity and leadership within a dynamic, customer-focused environment, making it a compelling choice for candidates eager to advance their careers in hospitality.
