With a strong commitment to excellence, Green Hills invests in the future of senior living by prioritizing the growth and development of their team members. This culture of investment creates a nurturing workplace where employees feel valued, motivated, and part of something extraordinary.
Currently, Green Hills Community is seeking a dedicated and hospitality-focused Chef Assistant to join their team on a part-time basis. This position primarily involves working Fridays and Saturdays, with some occasional weekday shifts, providing an ideal opportunity for those seeking flexible work hours. The hourly wage for this role is set at $17.50, reflecting the organization’s commitment to fair and competitive compensation.
The Chef Assistant role is pivotal in maintaining the quality and efficiency of the kitchen operations at Green Hills Community. This individual will be responsible for preparing complete meals and assisting with the preparation of other meals or catering events, ensuring every dish served meets the community’s high standards. Responsibilities also include the service of menu items, maintaining the cleanliness and stocking of work areas, and upholding all safety and sanitation protocols to guarantee a healthy environment for both residents and staff.
Working in harmony with dietary aides, utility workers, hosts, and other team members, the Chef Assistant plays a supervisory role during shifts, ensuring that team efforts are coordinated and that food service runs smoothly. The role demands attention to detail, a commitment to following standard recipes and dietary requirements, especially for those with modified diets, and a willingness to participate in ongoing training and education, which supports personal growth and adherence to health regulations.
This position is an excellent fit for individuals excited about food service within a healthcare setting, who appreciate the importance of nutrition for seniors and want to contribute meaningfully to their well-being. Physical demands include frequent bending, stooping, reaching, and balancing, reflecting the active nature of kitchen work. Additionally, the candidate must be able to read, write, and follow oral instructions in English to ensure clear communication and adherence to protocols.
Green Hills Community values its employees deeply and offers various programs to support their professional and personal development. Employees benefit from scholarships and educational assistance programs aimed at promoting career advancement from within. The community also fosters employee appreciation through extraordinary reward points and provides comprehensive benefits that support the health and wellness of employees and their families. Employee engagement is encouraged through various committees that allow staff to have a voice in the workplace environment. Furthermore, uniform allowances and a free, confidential Employee Assistance Program are in place to help employees perform at their best and manage life’s challenges.
Joining Green Hills Community as a Chef Assistant means becoming part of a team that is passionate about making a difference in the lives of seniors. It is more than a job; it is a chance to be involved in an extraordinary life, where your work directly impacts the well-being and happiness of residents.
