The role of Chef/Line Cook aboard Amtrak's dining cars is pivotal in delivering exceptional culinary experiences to passengers during their journeys. This position involves preparing a wide variety of freshly made full-course meals, ensuring high-quality food service on board. The Chef/Line Cook will assist in all phases of food preparation, including loading, unloading, verifying, handling, and storing food and service products, thereby maintaining excellent inventory and supply management. They are responsible for cooking, plating, prepping supplies, managing pantry stock, and providing servers with all necessary menu items. Attentiveness to cleanliness and hygiene is crucial; therefore, washing utensils, pots, pans, and maintaining the cleanliness of the lower level of the car are essential duties. The role requires adherence to FDA sanitation regulations and standards to guarantee passenger safety and satisfaction.

Job Duties
- Prepare full-course meals for Amtrak passengers
- assist with all phases of meal preparations
- wash all items used in the preparation of meals in compliance with FDA sanitation regulations and standards
- complete all end-point duties
- assist with loading, unloading, verification, handling and storage of all food and service products
- cook, plate, supply, prep food and pantry items
- maintain cleanliness of utensils, pots, pans, and lower level of the dining car
