Job Description
We are a short film production crew based in Northern California, embarking on an exciting project from May 12 to May 16. Our team consists of approximately 30 dedicated cast and crew members committed to creating an engaging and quality film. We value a supportive and collaborative work environment, recognizing that every detail—including daily meals—plays an essential role in the success of our production. Our team thrives on creativity, professionalism, and a shared passion for storytelling, and we aim to reflect that in all aspects of our work, including the catering experience on set.
We are currently seeking a private chef to join our crew as a live-in cook during this brief but intensive production period. The role is crucial in ensuring that the entire team is well-nourished and energized throughout each day. This position involves preparing three meals daily for the entire cast and crew, catering to a diverse group of individuals with varied dietary preferences and restrictions including omnivores, vegetarians, and gluten-free diets among others. The ideal candidate will be comfortable managing meal preparation on a larger scale, demonstrating exceptional organizational skills and self-sufficiency to operate efficiently within the dynamic environment of a film set.
As the live-in chef, you will have access to a fully equipped kitchen to facilitate your culinary activities, alongside light production support that will assist in streamlining day-to-day meal service logistics. We provide lodging and transportation to ensure your comfort and ease of access during the production period. While the compensation rate is negotiable and will reflect your experience and skills, this opportunity offers a unique chance to work closely with creative professionals in the film industry while showcasing your culinary expertise in a demanding and rewarding setting.
This role is tailored for a professional who enjoys a fast-paced environment and takes pride in providing delicious, well-balanced meals that meet the nutritional needs of a diverse team. Your ability to adapt to varying dietary needs and to maintain high standards of food safety and preparation will be fundamental to your success in this position. Join us in Northern California this May and be an integral part of a creative and vibrant film project, where your culinary contributions will be valued and appreciated.
