Job Description

Legend Senior Living is a recognized leader in senior care, celebrated for creating vibrant and supportive communities where residents enjoy the highest standards of service, environment, and care. This family-owned and operated business has proudly served seniors for over 30 years, expanding its footprint with multiple properties each year. Their commitment to excellence is reflected in numerous accolades such as the Great Place To Work certification for seven consecutive years, Best of Senior Living Award, and recognition for Innovative Programming in Senior Living. At Legend, they emphasize a holistic approach to wellness, incorporating Gold Leaf Dining standards and diverse life enrichment activities, all designed to enhance the quality of life for their residents. This dedication extends to their associates, offering a supportive and growth-oriented work environment with opportunities for professional advancement, continuing education, and comprehensive benefits.

We are currently seeking an exceptional individual to join our team as a Chef. The role involves far more than food preparation; it is about leading the culinary team in delivering outstanding dining experiences that enrich the lives of our senior residents. As Chef, you will oversee all culinary operations including menu planning, provisioning, and ensuring food safety. You will manage and supervise both kitchen and dining room staff to uphold the high standards associated with Legend's Gold Leaf Dining program. This position offers the unique benefit of daytime hours only, allowing for a balanced work-life schedule with no late-night shifts, which perfectly suits the preferences of our residents who enjoy early dining. The Chef role is vital in maintaining exceptional food quality and atmosphere, setting a high standard in senior living culinary services.

In addition to overseeing day-to-day culinary operations, the Chef will have responsibilities such as planning a variety of nutritious meals tailored to dietary needs, managing the budget and inventory, and ensuring that all kitchen and service areas meet rigorous safety and cleanliness standards. You will play a key role in hiring, training, and scheduling dietary staff and will occasionally serve in leadership functions like Manager-On-Duty. This position also encourages creativity and interaction with residents, fostering a community-centered dining experience. Bonuses and recognition opportunities such as employee referrals, employee of the month/year awards, and resident move-in tours further enhance the rewarding nature of this role. Join a company that values its employees as much as its residents, where you can bring your culinary passion into a positive, respectful, and growth-focused environment.
