Job Description

Terralume Signature Memory Care is a new, boutique community dedicated exclusively to people living with Alzheimer's disease and other forms of dementia. Located in Minnetonka off Wayzata Boulevard, the community is scheduled to open in June 2026. Terralume Signature Memory Care represents a compassionate and innovative approach to memory care, focusing on creating a specialized environment where residents receive personalized attention in a supportive and secure setting. The community is committed to building a team of dedicated professionals who are adaptable, empathetic, and motivated to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with cognitive impairments. This establishment emphasizes compassionate care, comfort, and a higher quality of life for its residents by employing best practices tailored to meet the unique needs of those with memory loss conditions.

The Cook/Chef role at Terralume Signature Memory Care is a vital position responsible for preparing and presenting meals that meet both customer expectations and regulatory standards. This part-time position involves working approximately 20 hours every two weeks, including every other weekend and holiday rotations. The Cook/Chef ensures meals are prepared with consistent quality, nutritional value, and are aligned with established standardized recipes. Preparing texturized diets according to the International Dysphagia Diet Standardization Initiative (IDDSI) standards is an essential part of this role, catering to the specialized dietary needs of memory care residents. The role extends beyond cooking to include assembling meals and bakery items in a timely manner, assisting with special events, and maintaining a clean and sanitary kitchen environment.

In addition to food preparation, the Cook/Chef may supervise kitchen staff in the absence of the supervisor and manage daily kitchen operations with a focus on exceptional customer service. The ability to communicate effectively with residents and guests regarding meal and service feedback is important, as it ensures continuous improvement and resident satisfaction. The ideal candidate for this role will have some experience in food preparation, a Food Handlers certification, and the flexibility to work part-time hours with weekend and holiday responsibilities. Offering a competitive hourly wage ranging from $21.84 to $30.83, this position is ideal for professionals seeking to contribute their culinary skills in a meaningful healthcare environment dedicated to memory care. Terralume Signature Memory Care fosters a positive work environment and supports employee growth within the healthcare and food service sectors.
