Job Description

Terralume Signature Memory Care is an innovative, boutique community tailored specifically for individuals living with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia. Located off Wayzata Boulevard in Minnetonka, this new community is scheduled to open in Spring 2026. As a specialized facility, Terralume aims to provide a safe, supportive, and compassionate environment where residents can receive personalized care that respects their dignity and promotes their quality of life. The community is committed to building a team of dedicated professionals who are passionate about dementia care and eager to contribute to a pioneering setting that represents a new standard in memory care services.

Joining Terralume Signature Memory Care as a Cook/Chef means becoming an integral part of a team committed to excellence in culinary care. This position is part-time, involving 20 hours every two weeks, with a schedule that includes every other weekend and holiday rotation. The role involves preparing and presenting meals that meet the nutritional and dietary needs of residents, following all regulatory guidelines and customer expectations meticulously. The Cook/Chef is responsible for creating meals that are not only nourishing but also appealing, considering the unique dietary requirements of individuals with dementia. This includes preparing texture-modified diets in alignment with the International Dysphagia Diet Standardization Initiative (IDDSI), ensuring that every meal supports residents’ health and safety.

The culinary professional will follow standardized recipes to maintain consistency in quality and portion sizes, carefully weighing and measuring ingredients to comply with nutritional standards. Additionally, the Cook/Chef supports special events, showcasing flexibility and creativity in menu planning and execution. Maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen environment in accordance with strict health regulations is another critical responsibility. This role demands attention to detail to uphold a hygienic workspace by adhering to cleaning schedules, using approved cleaning agents, and managing the organization of clean and dirty areas within the kitchen.

Moreover, the Cook/Chef may supervise kitchen staff and manage daily operations and customer service in the absence of supervisors, demonstrating leadership and communication skills. Feedback from residents and guests regarding meal quality and service is actively gathered and communicated to improve culinary offerings continuously. Terralume Signature Memory Care offers competitive hourly wages ranging from $21.09 to $29.40, reflecting the skills, experience, and education of the candidate. Additionally, the position includes access to a comprehensive benefits package through Ebenezer, which covers health, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, paid time off, tuition reimbursement, retirement plans, and early access to earned wages. This role is a fantastic opportunity for individuals looking to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those living with memory loss while cultivating their culinary career in a fulfilling and supportive environment.
