Job Description

JRI is a dedicated organization committed to providing specialized residential treatment for adolescents, focusing on trauma-informed care. Operating from Swansea, MA, the Swansea Wood School offers comprehensive 24-hour care which includes a fully integrated educational facility, clinical staff, nursing, and direct care personnel. The institution is devoted to fostering a safe and supportive environment for its students, ensuring that every aspect of their care caters to their unique physical and emotional needs. This creates a community where healing and growth are prioritized through holistic support systems and experienced professionals. As part of its multidisciplinary team, JRI values collaboration, respect, and the unique contribution of each staff member towards making a meaningful impact within the community it serves.

The Chef role at Swansea Wood School is a dynamic and inspiring opportunity for individuals passionate about the culinary arts, eager to play a vital role in the health and wellbeing of the students and staff. This position involves not only the preparation of nutritious, high-quality meals but also overseeing all culinary operations including menu planning, food ordering, kitchen safety, and maintenance. The role extends beyond typical kitchen duties by incorporating a leadership element in education; the Chef will collaborate with the administrative teams to promote health and wellness, providing valuable nutrition education to adolescents in care. With a focus on creating a positive, energetic kitchen atmosphere, the Chef supports both the physical nourishment and overall wellness initiatives at Swansea Wood.

Offering an hourly pay rate between $19.00 and $25.00, dependent on experience and qualifications, this role provides a competitive compensation structure. Employees will receive thorough training to develop their culinary skills and professional competencies within this supportive environment. Working at JRI means joining a diverse, small team that values each member's input and offers prospects for career advancement, fostering a workplace built on respect, collaboration, and inclusion. Benefits include a bilingual bonus, reimbursement for professional licensing fees, medical and dental insurance through reputable providers, a retirement plan with company matching and pension options, tuition reimbursement for professional development, wellness initiatives, and generous paid time off. In joining JRI, employees become part of a mission-driven organization devoted to making lasting impacts while supporting personal and professional growth.
