Job Description
We are a caring family seeking a compassionate and reliable personal cook to assist with meal preparation for an elderly family member. Our household is dedicated to providing a supportive and comfortable environment for our loved one, who is 79 years old and managing health issues that affect her energy levels. Given her limited ability to prepare meals for herself more than once a day, we require the services of a professional or experienced cook who can prepare nutritious, delicious meals tailored to her dietary needs and preferences on a regular schedule.
The ideal candidate will serve as a crucial support system by coming to our home multiple times a week, typically three days on a consistent schedule such as Monday, Wednesday, Friday or Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday. During each visit, the cook will prepare at least two meals to ensure that our loved one has access to healthy food options throughout the day. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys cooking with sensitivity to specific dietary restrictions, as our family member requires foods prepared without spices and black pepper. While her dietary needs are not extremely specialized, they are important to meet for her comfort and well-being.
This position requires not only culinary skills but also empathy and respect for the needs of an elderly individual. The cook will be a trusted presence in our home, responsible for maintaining a clean and organized cooking environment and possibly assisting with light kitchen-related tasks. Job Requirements
- minimum of 2 years cooking experience
- familiar with dietary restrictions and preparing meals accordingly
